Plan for week of May 4, 2020

Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you for your continued support and teamwork. Please see important information below.

1. Breakfast and Lunch Grab-and-Go Packs:

1. Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 12pm-1pm @ same locations:  On this day, we will hand out 5 lunches and 5 breakfasts.
2. Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from 12pm-1pm @ same locations:  On this day, we will hand out 3 lunches and 3 breakfasts.  Last Day of Meals.

2. School Equipment Turn-in: Laptops, iPads, Hotspots, Classroom & Library Books, and Concert/Contest Music.

1. Wednesday, May 13^th during meal pick-up 12pm-1pm (MT).  Same locations and time as meal pickups.
2. Thursday, May 14^th from 12:00pm-1:00pm (MT) at same locations as meal pick-ups.
3. Friday, May 15^th from 12:00pm-1:00pm (MT) at same locations as meal pick-ups.

3. Staff Appreciation Week, May 4-8:  Unfortunately, due to the CRST curfew and Stay at Home Order the “Shine Your Lights on May 6 @ 8:00pm” has been canceled. 

Families and students, please feel free to send staff appreciation pictures and videos for our school website to Joel Schweitzer Joel.Schweitzer@k12.sd.us .  We will accept pictures and videos for our website from May 4 thru May 6 @ 2:00pm.

4. Grading: 

1. Middle/High School:  Second semester grade will have the 3^rd quarter grade count 70% and 4^th quarter as 30%. 
2. Elementary:  Teachers will document 4th quarter progress on state standards 

5. Graduation will be held May 10^th and will be closed to the public. Details and adjustments will be shared with families of graduates as this date gets closer.  The Timber Lake Topic is making plans to live stream this event.
6. Preschool: If you have a Preschool child for the 2020-21 school year, please make sure to contact the elementary office and leave a message or email Heidi directly @ Heidi.Ducheneaux@k12.sd.us for registration paperwork. If you have already picked up registration paperwork please turn it into the Main office ASAP.
7. Academic Award Presentations:  Videos will be available on our school website.

1. Middle/High School Awards Day will air on Monday, May 11.
2. Elementary Awards presentations will be posted on the school website and Facebook pages on May 6th

8. Athletic Award Presentations:  Please visit our school website for video presentations.  Each day a new presentation will be added.

• Tuesday, May 5 - Volleyball
• Wednesday, May 6 – Football  
• Thursday, May 7 – Girls Basketball   
• Friday, May 8 – Boys Basketball   

9. School Calendar: Timber Lake School District will continue with the same school calendar, but the following adjustments will be made:

1.  New Assignments ended May 1. Students will not receive new assignments and have until May 15 to complete and turn in all homework.
2. Timber Lake School will continue to provide Counseling, Title and Special Education Services through May 15, 2020
3. School Meals will be provided through May 15^th.
4. High School Students: The semester test policy has been waived for Spring 2020. 

10. Timber Lake School District will continue to meet the learning needs of all students during this extended closure.

1. Wednesday, May 6, 2020. We request that students return all completed homework when they pick-up their lunch/breakfast. If you have the capability, please take a picture of your homework, and send to your teacher via email instead of physically turning it in.

We will provide more information on Driver’s Education and AISES Stem Camp activities as it becomes available.
