Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you for your continued support and teamwork. Please see important information below.

 

  1. Preschool: If you have a Preschool child for the 2020-21 school year, please make sure to contact the elementary office and leave a message or email Heidi directly @ Heidi.Ducheneaux@k12.sd.us for registration paperwork. If you have already picked up registration paperwork please turn it into the Main office ASAP.
  2. Grading:  The district will communicate adjusted grading procedures for fourth quarter in next week’s update.
  3. Graduation will be held May 10th and will be closed to the public. Details and adjustments will be shared with families of graduates as this date gets closer.  The Timber Lake Topic is making plans to live stream this event.
  4. Academic and Athletic Awards:  Presentation videos and an awards list will be on our website in the coming weeks.  The elementary award’s day presentations will be provided on our website in the coming weeks as well.
  5. School Calendar: Timber Lake School District will continue with the same school calendar, but the following adjustments will be made:
  1.  New Assignments will end May 1. Students will not receive any new assignments after May 1, 2020.
  2. Timber Lake School will continue to provide Counseling, Title and Special Education Services through May 15, 2020
  3. School Meals will be provided through May 15th.
  4. High School Students: The semester test policy has been waived for Spring 2020. 
  1. Breakfast and Lunch Grab-and-Go Packs:
  1. TL School District will provide free grab-and-go breakfasts/lunches to all students/children thru the age of 18 on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.  On this day, we will hand out 5 lunches and 5 breakfasts for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the following Monday & Tuesday.
  2. The drive-up time for meal drop-off for April 29 will be from 12:00PM-1:00PM (MT). 
  3. Drive-up locations will remain the same as previous weeks. 
  1. Timber Lake School District will continue to meet the learning needs of all students during this extended closure.
  1. Wednesday, April 29, 2020. We request that students return all completed homework when they pick-up their lunch/breakfast. If you have the capability, please take a picture of your homework, and send to your teacher via email instead of physically turning it in.
  1. Students who receive Special Education Services will continue to be provided with services, accommodations, and support.  Special Education teachers and service providers have been checking in with parents/students on a regular basis to ensure that their needs are being met. Please feel free to contact your child’s special education teacher if you have any questions or concerns between regular contacts.

 

We will provide more information on the following activities as it becomes available:  Driver’s Education and AISES Stem Camp.
