Plan for week of April 20, 2020
Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you for your continued support and teamwork. Please see important information below.
- School Calendar: Timber Lake School District will continue with the same school calendar, but the following adjustments will be made:
- New Assignments will end May 1. Students will not receive any new assignments after May 1, 2020. Students who have completed all work and are in good academic standing will have completed the academic year. Teachers will shift their time and focus to assisting students who have not completed their work and need additional support and instruction to complete the semester.
- Timber Lake School will continue to provide Counseling, Title and Special Education Services through May 15, 2020
- School Meals will be provided through May 15th.
- High School Students: The semester test policy has been waived for Spring 2020.
- Grading: Guidance has been provided by the South Dakota Department of Education. More communication will be provided next week.
- Graduation Ceremony options are being discussed and will be announced as plans develop
- Academic Awards and Athletic Banquet: We will communicate more concerning our alternative delivery method next week.
- Breakfast and Lunch Grab-and-Go Packs
- TL School District will provide free grab-and-go breakfasts/lunches to all students/children thru the age of 18 on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. On this day, we will hand out 5 lunches and 5 breakfasts for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the following Monday & Tuesday.
- The drive-up time for meal drop-off for April 22 will be from 12:00PM-1:00PM (MT).
- Drive-up locations will remain the same as previous weeks.
- Timber Lake School District will continue to meet the learning needs of all students during this extended closure.
- Wednesday, April 22, 2020. We request that students return all completed homework when they pick-up their lunch/breakfast. If you have the capability, please take a picture of your homework and send to your teacher via email instead of physically turning it in.
- Students who receive Special Education Services will continue to be provided with services, accommodations and support. Special Education teachers and service providers have been checking in with parents/students on a regular basis to ensure that their needs are being met. Please feel free to contact your child’s special education teacher if you have any questions or concerns between regular contacts.
We will provide more information on the following activities as it becomes available: Driver’s Education and AISES Stem Camp.
