Plan for week of April 6, 2020

 

Congratulations Parents and Students…You are doing a great job and it’s truly great to be a Timber Lake Panther! TLSD appreciates your teamwork approach during this challenging time.

 

REMINDER:  Timber Lake Schools will remain closed until May 1, 2020 and The South Dakota High School Athletic Association has canceled all activities until May 3, 2020.  Below is important information for the week of April 6, 2020.

 

  1.  Breakfast and Lunch Grab-and-Go Packs
  1. TL School District will continue to provide free grab-and-go breakfasts/lunches to all students/children thru the age of 18 on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.  On this day, we will hand out 5 lunches and 5 breakfasts for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the following Monday & Tuesday.
  2. The drive-up time for meals and homework drop-off for April 8 will be from 12:00PM-1:00PM (MT). 
  3. Drive-up locations will remain the same as previous weeks.  If you live in town, you may pick up your grab-and-go meal packs at door E1 of the school.
  • White Horse Community Center (Parking Lot)
  • Isabel Community Center (Parking Lot)
  • In front of Timber Lake Main Office (Door E-1)
  • Trail City Community Center (Parking Lot)
  • O’Leary’s bus stop

 

  1. Timber Lake School District will continue to meet the learning needs of all students during this extended closure.
  1. Wednesday, April 8, 2020.  We request that students return all completed homework when they pick-up their lunch/breakfast.  If you have the capability, please take a picture of your homework and send to your teacher via email instead of physically turning it in.

 

  1. Students who receive Special Education Services will continue to be provided with services, accommodations and support.  Special Education teachers and service providers have been checking in with parents/students on a regular basis to ensure that their needs are being met. If you have alternative phone numbers, please write those on your homework packets before returning them.

 

PERSONAL ITEMS LEFT AT SCHOOL

 

Middle School and High School Students: They will be allowed to retrieve personal items from their lockers during a CONTROLLED Entry on Monday, April 6 & Tuesday, April 7.  No one will be allowed in the classrooms!

 

*You are not allowed to come to school if you have any symptom of sickness

*April 6 & 7 are the only dates we are offering a CONTROLLED ENTRY for MS/HS students.

 

Times on April 6 & 7: Please attend during the time aligned to the letter your last name starts with.

 

8 am-9 am       A, B, C, D, E

9 am-10 am     F, G, H, I, J

10 am-11 am   K, L, M, N

12 pm-1 pm     O, P, Q, R,

1 pm-2 pm       S, T, U, V, W, X Y, Z

 

Process

  1. Maintain social distancing at all times. When waiting at the front door, please keep your distance from the student in front of you.
  2. Identify to Door E1 staff member that you are present at Roster Check-in.  Come prepared with a bag to hold all personal items.
  3. Go to your hallway locker first. (A staff member will be present to provide you with disinfectant)
  4. One person will be allowed in gym locker room at a time. (A staff member will be present to provide you with disinfectant)
  5. All schoolbooks/textbooks/library books should be placed on the Middle School Commons Table.
  6. Leave the school immediately when personal items are gathered and books placed on the appropriate table

 

  Elementary Students: Parents/Guardians ONLY will be allowed to retrieve personal items from their child’s locker during a CONTROLLED Entry on Thursday, April 9.  No one will be allowed in the classrooms!

****Graduation:  We will continue to monitor the situation and will do our best to plan a graduation ceremony or celebration.  We are proud of our 2020 TLHS Graduates!

 

Following Governor Noem’s announcement of school closures in the State of South Dakota through May 1, 2020, Timber Lake School District made very difficult decisions concerning postponements and cancellations of certain activities.  We share in the disappointment and heartbreak of our parents, students, staff, and community members.   However, the health and well-being of our students, staff and community remains our top priority during these unprecedented times.
